About Blazer Brass 9mm

Blazer Brass is CCI's budget range line and consistently one of the cheapest brass-cased 9mm options available. Brass-cased and boxer-primed (reloadable), unlike the aluminum-cased Blazer line. The 200-round range bucket (52021) and 100-round value packs are the most economical way to buy. Manufactured at CCI's Lewiston, Idaho facility. Reliable and clean-shooting for the price.

Blazer Brass vs Blazer Aluminum — What's the Difference

CCI makes two Blazer lines that are easily confused. Blazer Brass (this page) uses reloadable brass cases with boxer primers. Blazer Aluminum uses aluminum cases with Berdan primers — not reloadable, and banned at some ranges that sort brass for resale. Blazer Aluminum is typically $0.01–0.03/rd cheaper but the brass version is more versatile. If you reload or your range requires brass cases, Blazer Brass is the right choice.

How It Compares

Blazer Brass, Federal AE, and Winchester White Box are the three pillars of budget 9mm range ammo. All are brass-cased, boxer-primed, and priced within $0.01–0.02/rd of each other. Blazer Brass occasionally edges out the competition on price, especially in the 200-round bucket configuration. Magtech and Remington UMC are comparable alternatives. At this price tier, the shooting experience is nearly identical — buy whatever is cheapest and in stock.

Buying Tips

The 200-round bucket (52021) offers the best per-round price at $0.17–0.21/rd and is a popular option for range day purchases. The 100-round value pack (52001) is a good middle ground. Blazer Brass rarely has supply issues since CCI/Vista Outdoor is one of the largest ammunition manufacturers in the US. Pair with a free shipping threshold to maximize savings — a couple of value packs usually crosses the $99 free shipping line at most retailers.
